This “yard worker” portrait was a brutal lens test by my friend Lupe Maganabut a great image for
showing that “light retouching” can soften skin and make certain detail less distracting.
It’s similar to the effect I gave my early darkroom prints, by passing a percentage of the print exposure through stretched nylon. The effect can be appropriately fine tuned for each image, and is now offered as a standard option for all portraits. [9/13]
